According to Taiwan's ambassador to Haiti Cheung-Hao Hu, restoring security is one of our priorities. "This is also why I was assigned to Haiti: to work with the government to identify areas where we can intervene within the framework of bilateral cooperation", he explained.

"Taiwan has already started working with Haitian authorities, including providing support to the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H)," the ambassador explained. He is in discussions with the government to strengthen this support, specifying that Taiwan is ready to act in concert with the international community and the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSM).

"I am confident that with the help of Taiwan and the international community, security will be restored sooner or later", he said.

Asked about possible material assistance for the security forces, the ambassador confirmed that discussions are underway regarding the provision of equipment for the PNH: "We are currently evaluating the best way to respond to this request. However, I prefer not to go into details at this time," he added.

This support is part of a move to strengthen ties between the two nations, through targeted initiatives to stabilize Haiti and guarantee the security of its population.
