The Haitian government, in a statement published in the newspaper Le Moniteur, made official this Friday, January 24, 2024, the appointment of Bertrand Sinal as the new Minister of Public Health and Population (MSPP). Close to the Fanmi Lavalas party, Dr. Sinal is also the new representative of the December 21 Accord within the government.
This appointment comes one month after the dismissal of Dr. Duckenson Lorthe Bléma, who only held the position for 34 days. He was dismissed following the tragedy that occurred at the General Hospital on December 24. During an attempt to reopen this establishment, two journalists and a police officer tragically lost their lives.
