The patripoche bourgeoisie (the selfish bourgeoisie) has somehow regained political control of Executive power. It shares the new government with, among others: the political organization Fanmi Lavalas of Jean Bertrand Aristide, and Lespwa or Inite of René Préval.
This new alliance is built around Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, a businessman, candidate for the Senate in the last elections. He was also considered for the position of Prime Minister following the resignation of Ariel Henry.
We should recall that last April when the Presidential Council chose Conille instead of Fils-Aimé, there was some gnashing of teeth, as if the latter had bought the position. The business class had bribed all the members of the Presidential Council so that Fils-Aimé would be selected.
What does the future of this country hold with such individuals at the helm of state?
It is in this panorama that on the very day of Garry Conille's dismissal, a resolution dated November 8, published in the official newspaper Le Moniteur, made Mr. Alix Didier Fils-Aimé his successor. He was installed on November 11. On Saturday the 16th, it was the turn of his ministerial office at the Villa d'Accueil.
The Prime Minister, very close to the Inite camp, Lespwa, a personal friend of the oligarch Dimitri Vorbe, also a member of the same political movement, is flanked by 18 ministers and a secretary of state in his new transitional government. Eight former ministers have been reappointed and 10 new ones.
In his speech for the occasion, Fils-Aimé, in an act of demagoguery, said: "To those who join this new team, I invite you to fully measure the extent of the responsibilities that fall to you" and then added everything that the audience and even the population would like to hear: " We have no time to lose, let's get to work. This government is taking office with a sense of urgency and seriousness."
"Our mission is clear: we must restore hope to our people by resolutely tackling the major challenge facing Haiti. Insecurity in all its forms must be vigorously combated, including physical, economic and food insecurity," he noted.
It is clear that this new ministerial cabinet is under the thumb of the Private Business Sector. Some ministers are like gerontologists who returns to the bedside of a sick person to finally finish him off. Many have been ministers many times with a poor record.
This new government will suit an economic elite more concerned with its own interests than with the good of the majority of the population. We have nothing to expect from it; as usual, they are only leeches who come to suck the state apparatus for the benefit of the oligarchs Bigio, Abdallah and others.
They are: Ketleen Florestal from the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE); Raphael Hosty from Public Works, Transport and Communication (Lavalas); Vernet Joseph, Minister of Agriculture (Pitit Desalin). James Monazard from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Private Sector); Moise Jean Pierre Fils from the Ministry of the Environment; Antoine Augustin, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training (Montana). Paul Antoine Bien-aimé, Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities (Lespwa, INITE); Alfred Metellus, Minister of Economy and Finance; Patrick Pelissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security; Jean Harvel Jean Baptiste, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs (Lavalas); Dr. Lorté Blema, Minister of Public Health and Population; Erick Dessources, Minister of Tourism; Jean Michel Moïse, Minister of Defense; Pedrica St-Jean becomes Minister of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights; Katia Verdier is appointed Minister of Haitians Living Abroad and Patrick Delatour (INITE) takes over the Ministry of Culture and Communication. With such men and women at the helm of the State, what does the future of this country hold for us?
The cake is well and truly shared between the potentates of the bourgeoisie and those of the political class. As usual it is the working masses who have never had any share of it. A day will come when everything will be overturned!
