The partnership comes at a time of increasing convergence between connectivity, fintech, and financial services. It includes joint initiatives such as organizing regional events, implementing training programs in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and risk management, as well as sharing information on industry trends and emerging threats.

Key projects include the creation of an annual roundtable bringing together banking executives, telecom operators and regulators to discuss issues related to cross-border payments, mobile financial services and digital identity.
