Reverend Father Snell Armand Nord, parish priest of Saint-Jules of Petit-Bourg de Borgne and member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, was kidnapped this Friday, July 31, 2026 in Haut-du-Cap, 2nd communal section of Cap-Haïtien, in the North department.
The information was confirmed to our colleagues at Focus Haiti Media by a source close to the Roman Catholic Church. At this stage, no details have been released regarding the circumstances of the kidnapping or the identity of the kidnappers.
This kidnapping took place in the Northern department, a region which, until now, had remained relatively untouched by the deteriorating security situation, particularly the wave of kidnappings that is hitting other regions of the country.
