Final Resolution of the Ouanaminthe National Congress for the New Haiti

By Congrès National Ouanaminthe (Ouanaminthe National Congress), Rezo Nodwes, May 18, 2024

Press Release.

The Ouanaminthe National Congress for a New Haiti, following past congresses held in Arcahaie and Bois Caïman, takes note that the 221st anniversary of the creation of our flag is being celebrated again this year against a backdrop of crisis and the threat of foreign intervention in the country.

Once again, we saw the tradition of having the country's highest authorities on the Place d'Armes in Arcahaie for this festivity repeated. It's a clear sign that the country is dying, in agony.

The Congress also notes that the presence of these countrymen, who have been at the forefront of the country's political scene for almost a month now has brought no change or prospect of change. The situation has become even more humiliating and critical when our Haitian brothers continue to be hunted down and made refugees in their own country.

There also with a sense of helplessness that we note that this great period in the nation's history corresponds to the arrival of foreign forces in the country, under the guise of the United Nations, to once again sully the sacred soil of Haiti under the pretext of helping us fight armed groups that they themselves have and armed.

The Ouanaminthe National Congress deeply regrets to see that the patriotism, the spirit of sacrifice, greatness of soul and unity that animated the founding
Founding Fathers of the Nation to bring them to the union that truly made them strong, has us to the whim of circumstances and the masters of this world.

The Congrès National Ouanaminthe pour la Nouvelle Haïti takes this opportunity to call on all the Haitian people to unite under the banner of our Constitution and the laws of the Republic to get the country out of its impasse.

The country's rescue will come neither from the East nor the West but from the sacrosanct union of the country's worthy sons and daughters.

Sons and Daughters of Haiti, let us rise up and put aside the axe of war and division that hurts us all.

Let's abandon our acts of barbarism, of killing, let's get together to save our beloved Haiti. Why is a foreign force still present in the country?
What foreign country are we at war with? Haitian brothers and sisters, the time is coming, has already come for a wake-up call.

To our Haitian brothers who have illegal weapons, pull yourself together and hand over your weapons.

Let's do things differently, let's give Haiti a chance, let's give our children a chance.

There have already been 11 UN missions in Haiti, two direct occupations by the United-States. What are the results? These foreign forces will always create the conditions to come and go in the country? Did you know that the Director General of the Police has appointed foreign security consultants next to his office? And what are the results?

Do you understand this? Haitian compatriots, do you recall the words of Martin Luther King, that human rights activist:

“We must learn to live together as brothers, or we will all die together like idiots”.

Under the banner of the 1987 Constitution and the laws of the Republic, the Congrès National Ouanaminthe calls for the unity of all Haitians to bring the country out of its impasse.

“Nou ka chanje sa, si nou vle, ann pa kite yo vinn krache sou nou anko, ban nou kolera, viole pitit fi ak piti gason nou anko”.

Long live Haiti! Long live the Haitian flag! Long live the unity of the people! Long live the 1987. Long live the application of the Resolution of the Ouanaminthe Congress for the New Haiti!

The fate of the islands depends on the islands themselves!
