Garry Conille meets with Association of Haitian Industries (ADIH)

Prime Minister Garry Conille met this Thursday, June 27, 2024 with members of l'Association des industries d'Haïti (ADIH). According to a press release from the Prime Minister. the discussions took place around current economic and industrial challenges, as well as measures to be adopted to revitalize the Haitian economy.

According to the press release, industrial development in Haiti. “While recognizing the need to achieve political and economic stability with a view to better performance of the industrial sector, he assured that the government will take concrete measures to this end and as soon as possible”.

Exemption from taxes on imports of raw materials, improvement of customs processes, strengthening of border controls, and support for the renewal of the HOPE HELP law, these were the subjects discussed during this meeting.

According to the press release, Conille underlined the government's commitment to fighting corruption and updating the tax system which must "align with current economic realities."

"The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to working closely with ADIH and other employers' associations with a view to creating a favorable business environment,"  which specifies that the head of government emphasized "the participation of the economic sector in decision-making and the strengthening of public-private partnership."

In addition, on social networks, ADIH presented its new Board of Directors, elected for the period 2024-2026, following its Ordinary General Meeting held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Maulik Radia is now the president. John Batroni/ National Production; David Coles/ Agro-Industry; Nathalie Hermantin/ Textile are the vice-presidents. Mikaelle William is in charge of managing the treasury. Stephan Déjoie is the secretary while Tom Adamson, Carine Bellefleur, Georges Cassis, Laila Durban, Ralph Edmond, Maude Louis Jean, Christian Mathon, Christopher Rodriguez, Stephan Saint Remy, Alexandre Vital, Wilhelm Lemke are the advisors.
