As part of the fight against insecurity, the Government in place says it is leading domestically, under the leadership of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, has set up the third version of the National Commission for Disarmament, Disarmament and Reintegration (CNDDR). The Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, Paul Antoine Bien Aimé, installed the new members of this Commission today, Monday, March 10, following an arrest made at the Council of Ministers on February 21, 2025.
This new CNDDR has a clear mission according to the Government, which is to implement strategies to remove weapons from civilians, strengthen security, and give young people who have engaged in illegal activities, such as gangs, the chance to reintegrate into society without discrimination.
According to the Government, this is an important step that demonstrates its will and that of the Transitional Presidential Council to end the insecurity crisis, which continues to affect the population.
In addition, the Commission will play a key role in implementing the national security plan, which aims to establish peace and ensure that all citizens can live without fear. The government reiterates its commitment to working tirelessly for a Haiti where law and security prevail.
We remind you that the CNDDR was created on August 29, 2006 after a Presidential decree. At that time, the Commission had 7 members who included organizations such as OXFAM, APROSIFA, PAM, RNDDH, PAM. On March 8, 2019, another Presidential decree under Jovenel Moïse reactivated the Commission that had been inactive since 2011. This time, the Commission had 9 members: Edwin Florexil, Innocent Joseph, Roodiny Jean-Baptiste, Abler Roudy Lalane, Jean Chenet Lucien, Greatz Marie Lydie Sironel Charles, Jean Rebel Dorcéna, Jude Jean Pierre and Frantz Toyo.
The new commission installed today has 7 members, Enold Florestal as coordinator, Guerda Privilon, Claudy Alexis, Junior Bonheur, Illionor Louis, Michel Jean-Marie Léonidas and Abler Roudy Lalanne.
