Honduras presidential election on Nov 24 has popular/peasant party candidate in lead

Nov 24, 2013--Today, a presidential election takes place in Honduras. Leading the polls is the self-described socialist candidate Xiomara Castro Sarmiento de Zelaya. Her husband is the elected president who was ousted in 2009 by a military coup, Manuel Zelaya.
 
Zelaya is the candidate of LIBRE, an acronym for Liberty and Refoundation (and also for Liberals in Resistance). It is the political arm of the Front for National Popular Resistance (FNRP). Founded a little more than two years ago, LIBRE is, like the FNRP itself, a coalition of five political tendencies, each regrouping smaller political and social organisations.
