In a statement published this Saturday, June 24, 2023 the Marien Patriotic Initiative (L'Initiative Patriote Marien - IPAM) clarified that for years, Haiti has been facing a series of complex and devastating problems. Smuggling oligarchs, corrupt politicians, and Core Group member countries have plunged the country into a disastrous situation. The population continues to suffer from hunger, misery and insecurity.

Faced with this alarming reality, IPAM is convinced that only unity between all Haitian patriots can reverse the trend, and build a better future for the country.

IPAM outlines six fundamental points on which to base the struggle.

First and foremost, the issue of security is paramount. IPAM calls for the organization of vigilance brigades throughout the nation to protect the population and combat the gangs, murderers, kidnappers and corrupt elements of the Ariel Henry regime. It is essential to put an end to the impunity that currently reigns.

Secondly, the fight against hunger, poverty and economic crime are an absolute priority. IPAM denounces the actions of the smuggling oligarchs, Ariel's regime, and their international supporters who have plundered state funds, leaving the people destitute. It is urgent to put an end to this exploitation and create fair economic conditions for all.

Third, a genuine transition is needed for Haiti's sustainable development. Governance and the coup-de-fouet transition are also central to IPAM's demands. IPAM is calling for the strengthening of structures that will enable solutions to be found to extricate the country from Ariel Henry's corruption.

Fourth, international sanctions are a powerful lever in the fight against corruption. IPAM urges the international community to maintain and strengthen sanctions against those responsible for embezzlement and human rights violations in Haiti. Only severe sanctions can put an end to impunity and restore justice.

Fifth, protecting workers is a major concern for IPAM. They call for defending the rights of workers in the free zone of the Industrial Development Corporation in Ouanaminthe. IPAM denounces the brutal methods used against them They demand CODEVI's owners cease the exploitation of workers and peasants, .

Finally, IPAM denounces foreign interference. They call for a break with the charity model that keeps Haiti in misery. In order to encourage sustainable development, IPAM stresses the importance of truly effective cooperation, based on productive investment and public policies in favor of health and education.

To achieve these objectives and pull Haiti out of its crisis, IPAM calls for the solidarity among all the country's progressive forces. It is essential to mobilize together, put aside differences, and work hand in hand to put an end to the grip Ariel Henry and his accomplices - BINUH or the embassies of the Core Group - have on Haiti.

According IPAM's leaders, only a strong and united society can bring real and lasting change to Haiti. They call on the population to join IPAM in this struggle for a politically stable, economically prosperous, and socially equitable Haiti.

Former deputy Hugues Celestin and former senator Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé launched a solemn appeal to all Haitian patriots, progressive forces, and the international community to unite their efforts and work together for a free, strong, and prosperous Haiti.

Only unity can bring a better future for all Haitians.
