Panic in Port-au-Prince after a drone crashes near a school

An incident caused panic this Monday, October 13, 2025, in the neighborhood of the Sacré-Cœur school in Port-au-Prince.

According to Radio Galaxie, in the early afternoon, a drone crashed near the school, causing fear among students and local residents.

Several people hastily left the area for fear of potential dangers related to the device.

So far, no authority has commented on the drone's origin or mission. Local security forces have been asked to conduct an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this incident. The event occurs amid a climate of high insecurity in the capital, where residents already live under the constant threat of criminal activity by armed gangs.

Local residents are demanding more measures to guarantee safety around schools and in their neighborhoods.
