Seven employees of the Pétion-Ville town hall were abducted on Monday, April 27 in Delmas 101, while traveling in an official vehicle with license plate BB-11002. According to available information, the kidnappers left with the victims and the vehicle, which is still missing.

On Tuesday, several municipal employees demonstrated to denounce this kidnapping and demand the immediate release of their colleagues. This mobilization reflects growing concern about the resurgence of kidnappings.

This kidnapping comes amid a continuing deterioration of the security situation. Many citizens denounce the ineffectiveness of the measures put in place to contain crime, fueling a feeling of abandonment.

Meanwhile, a campaign advocating for dialogue with armed groups is gaining momentum on social media. Its supporters see it as an option to reduce violence, while others express reservations.

Despite these debates, kidnappings continue, including those targeting public officials. This latest case reignites questions about concrete responses to this persistent crime.
