Haitians protest Monsanto's 'gift' of seeds

News sources are reporting on Haitian farmers' suspicion of seeds donated by agriculture corporation Monsanto and distributed by U.S. AID (see: Food Safety News; Catholic News Service; Mediahacker). The Papay Peasant Movement in Haiti's Central Plateau organized a protest and burning of the seeds on June 4. Video stories below.

Previous AID projects in Haiti, such as rice donations, have devastated Haitian agriculture largely to the benefit of U.S. farmers. Former President Bill Clinton admitted as much in March 2010 (see here).
