The standoff is intensifying between Delmas Divisional Commissioner Nacius Junior Lacombe and journalist Romanes Samedi. Following serious accusations made on Radio Méga, the police official issued a summons to the journalist, giving him one full day to confirm his statements and, if necessary, produce supporting evidence.
During his show Mega Booster, broadcast on August 10, 2026, Romanes Samedi stated that a police inspector had called him to claim that Divisional Commissioner Nacius Junior Lacombe was using police officers from Carrefour and Croix-des-Bouquets to carry out kidnappings in Delmas on his behalf. These are particularly serious accusations directly targeting the head of the Delmas police station.
In response, Divisional Commissioner Lacombe issued a summons to Romanes Samedi, which the journalist received on Wednesday, August 19. The host of Méga Booster has one full day to declare whether he "confirms and maintains all the statements" made during his August 10 broadcast, particularly those portraying the commissioner as being in collusion with police officers involved in kidnappings in Delmas.
The summons, supported by a transcript of the relevant sequence drawn up by a justice of the peace in Pétion-Ville assisted by a clerk, also demands that Romanes Samedi, if he maintains his statements, provide within the same timeframe all the evidence in his possession: written documents, audio recordings, videos, duly identified eyewitnesses, or any other form of evidence admissible in Haitian courts. The case thus takes on a new dimension and could now move from the media arena to the judicial arena.
