In a statement received by Vant Bèf Info, the former governor of the Central Bank and current member of the Transitional Presidential Council Fritz Alphonse Jean denounced the system of institutionalized violence and poor governance that have worsened the socio-economic crisis in Haiti. Too much blood has been shed! This must stop!, he insisted, pointing out the recurring use of armed groups by certain governments to retain power.

A system to be dismantled

Jean has strongly criticized the practices that have led to the emergence of a climate insecurity. For him, banditry, whether internal or fueled by external interests, does not build a nation; it destroys it.

In calling for a concerted mobilization between the police and the population, the President-Counsellor highlighted the importance of effective collaboration to restore security and human dignity. Every citizen has the right to live in peace and dignity, he said.

A call for national unity

Faced with the urgency of the situation, Jean urged Haitians to overcome their divisions to unite in this crucial fight. Together, we must put an end to this system that is eating away at our society, he said, calling on political, social and economic actors to join forces for a better future.

Reaffirming the transitional government's support for the security forces, he encouraged the population to actively collaborate with the police, stressing that this partnership is essential to bring peace to the communities.

Towards a secure and stable Haiti

For Jean, security is an essential prerequisite for the country's development. He considers this fight as a collective duty and calls for a complete overhaul of the practices that have kept Haiti in a state of chronic vulnerability.
