The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) publishes the official calendar of electoral operations for 2026-2027.

This timetable provides for holding the first round of the presidential election, the legislative elections and the popular ratification of the proposed changes to the Constitution for December 13, 2026.

The second round of the legislative and presidential elections, as well as the elections for local authorities, are scheduled for February 21, 2027.

The Electoral Council also emphasizes that meeting these deadlines depends on establishing an acceptable security environment and the financial resources necessary to continue the electoral operations.

The CEP also reiterates that organizing these elections is a shared responsibility for all stakeholders. It requires the commitment of the government, various actors and partners, both national and international.

The Provisional Electoral Council reaffirms its commitment to conducting the electoral process in an inclusive and impartial manner, respecting the principles of independence, transparency and democratic accountability.
