Cholera continues to circulate actively in Haiti, with 2,652 suspected cases reported across the country. The situation remains particularly serious in certain municipalities, notably Arcahaie, where mortality rates are high.

Urban areas such as Pétion-Ville, Cité-Soleil, Port-au-Prince, and Delmas account for the majority of confirmed cases. Health authorities report a slight increase in suspected cases, with 9 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours and 7 people recently hospitalized.

Arcahaie stands out due because of 12 recent deaths caused by cholera, despite a low number of confirmed cases. This suggests limited access to healthcare and delays in detection, increasing the risk of cholera spreading in vulnerable areas.

The trend shows peaks in weeks 10 and 13, followed by a relative decline, but recent data indicate a resurgence of cases around week 40. The mapping confirms that large urban areas remain the most affected, requiring increased vigilance and targeted prevention measures.

The main cause of this resurgence is linked to contaminated water and inadequate hygiene practices in certain areas. It is essential that the population adopt preventive measures, such as regular handwashing, drinking safe water, and seeking prompt medical attention in case of acute diarrhea. The mobilization of local authorities and humanitarian actors remains crucial to limiting the spread of cholera.
