As the interim government's term ends on February 7, 2026, political initiatives are multiplying to establish a new transitional government. It is in this context that the Alternative for Change in Haiti (ACH) is proposing a dual executive, with former Interior Minister Audin Fils Bernadel chosen to become Prime Minister.
At a press conference held this Saturday at Midoré Park in Delmas 33, ACH spokesperson Réginald Gédéon outlined the main points of this proposal. According to him, the transition should be led by a dual executive, composed of a president and a prime minister.
He specified that the president could come from the political sector, the private sector, or even the Supreme Court. In contrast, the Alternative for Change in Haiti (ACH) clearly proposes Audin Fils Bernadel to head the Prime Minister's office.
Réginald Gédéon praised the political experience of the former Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, believing that he understands the workings of the state and possesses the will and strategy necessary to address the major challenges of the moment, particularly insecurity.
He also emphasized that this transitional government would have a limited mandate, not exceeding twelve months.
Present at the press conference, Audin Fils Bernadel confirmed his acceptance of the choice made in his favor. He promised that, if elected head of government, he would tackle the problem of insecurity by prioritizing dialogue with all sectors of national life, without exclusion.
The former minister also praised the commitment of Monsignor Pierre-André Dumas, who agreed to conduct mediation between the various Haitian actors, with the aim of reaching a consensual solution and avoiding a climate of chaos as the fateful date of February 7, 2026 approaches.
