More than 100 police officers from the Southeast Department participated in specialized training from May 13 to 15, 2026, focusing on operational marksmanship, intervention techniques, and drone piloting. The training was conducted as part of the security cooperation between France and Haiti.

According to the diplomatic mission, this training aimed to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Haitian National Police (PNH) in a context marked by the deterioration of the security situation in the country.

The participants came from several units in the Southeast, including the departmental law enforcement unit, the intervention and law enforcement corps, and the departmental judicial police service.

The exercises focused on operational shooting, special intervention techniques and the use of surveillance drones.

The training was provided by an international technical expert from the Internal Security Service (SSI) of the French Embassy, with the support of trainers from the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) of the PNH.

According to the embassy, equipment was also handed over to the units concerned.

The Southeast Departmental Judicial Police Service has received computer equipment. Surveillance equipment has also been provided to the police officers deployed in Seguin.

Through this initiative, France affirms its continued support for strengthening the capacities of Haitian law enforcement in the face of current security challenges.
