Staff members of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) who have physical disabilities organized a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in front of the Villa d'Accueil in Delmas, to demand payment of thirteen months of back pay.

In other words: it has been more than a year since the State stopped paying them; so, it is not a lack of money, but pure bad faith, hatred of the rich against the poor.

Such a situation cannot continue in this country, where a large part of the population lives in perpetual unemployment. For one reason or another, those who have been lucky enough to find a job are not paid.

Indeed, the victims of this process are often the poorest, and never seem to manage to obtain any salary.

Enough is enough! Enough of this exploitation! " The protesters, some of them blind, held up their protest signs. They chanted scathing slogans directed at the country's leaders—and more specifically at the Minister of Health, Dr. Bertrand Sinal, as well as other members of the *de facto* government.

Furthermore, they claim they are not treated like human beings in the performance of their duties and that, thirteen months later, they still haven't received the salaries owed to them. The state doesn't care about the people; the leaders only think about their own pockets and their own families.

Consequently, they are calling on Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to intervene to put an end to this type of abuse. Indeed, these are primarily people with disabilities for whom this job is their only means of subsistence. If managers act in this way, it is out of a lack of respect for workers—and especially for workers with disabilities, who suffer most acutely from being treated with such disrespect.

Disabled employees are demanding that the government honor its commitments and pay its staff—including people with disabilities. They have also announced that they will continue their protest relentlessly until they are paid.

Hunger is bitter. Down with poverty! It is not charity we have come to ask of you, but our wages. The fruit of our labor. We must put an end to this cruelty of greedy and malicious officials!
