By Daniella Saint-Louis, Gazette Haiti, April 3, 2026

Following the increase in petroleum product prices which came into effect on April 2, 2026, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST) announced the adjustment of public transport fares across the entire national territory.

According to a statement from MAST, this decision is taken with reference to the statement of November 16, 2022 and the joint opinion of the Ministries of Economy and Finance and of Trade and Industry setting the prices of petroleum products on the national territory.

According to the new provisions, the adjustment of the price of fuel at the pump has increased by 29% for petrol and by 37% for diesel.

These increases are already being reflected on several routes serving the country. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MAST) has therefore set the new public transport fares across the entire national territory.
