The most recent kidnapping occurred on Friday, January 23, around 9:00 PM, in Delmas 65. Three men—Jems Gédéon, Pouchon Delphonse, and Carl Henry Georgeon—were abducted by heavily armed individuals.

The kidnappers were traveling in a white Toyota Land Cruiser, commonly known as a "zo reken," equipped with a flashing blue light.
According to witnesses, the operation was carried out swiftly and precisely, leaving little room for the victims or bystanders to react.

In response to this tragedy, the hostages' relatives and longtime friends are making an urgent appeal to the kidnappers, urging them to release the victims so they can be reunited with their families safe and sound.

Furthermore, other kidnappings were reported in Delmas 31 on Saturday, January 24. Reliable sources indicate that three people, including two young girls, were abducted. The exact circumstances of this act have not yet been revealed.

While kidnapping cases seemed to be declining at the end of last year, January 2026 served as a stark reminder of the reality. Just as the national police, supported by their partners, were attempting to dislodge certain gangs from their strongholds, kidnapping resurfaced, insidiously taking root and reigniting fear and anxiety within families.
