The political group Opposition Plurielle organised a demonstration on Saturday, June 6, to demand security and good living conditions from Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, on the eve of his 120 days at the head of the government.

The mobilization began in Delmas 40B. The demonstrators marched through several streets of the commune before heading towards the Canadian embassy in Port-au-Prince.

During the march, participants held up signs denouncing the country's situation and government management. They also demanded changes in national governance.

Tires were set on fire at several points along the route. These actions caused disruptions in some areas crossed by the movement.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) was deployed to ensure security. No injuries or deaths have been reported, according to available information.

This demonstration comes on the eve of June 7, 2026, the date marking the first 120 days of Alix Didier Fils-Aimé at the head of the government.

For several weeks, political organizations and opposition groups have been criticizing the actions of the current administration. They believe that the promised results have not materialized.

The protesters denounced the deteriorating security situation and the delays in the electoral process. They asserted that the authorities have not provided sufficient responses to the challenges facing the country.

The plural opposition announced its intention to continue the mobilization until its demands are met.
