"The people are suffering while the authorities are having a great time"
The TPC has not met the expectations of the population. Insecurity continues to worsen with armed gangs strengthening their grip on the territory, while the economy is collapsing. Faced with this situation, the protesters denounced the inaction of the leaders.
"The Presidential Council is doing nothing to improve our daily lives. They are taking it easy. They are taking advantage of the people's money while we are dying of hunger and insecurity," complains one protester.
Supervised by the officers from the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO), the demonstrators are determined to continue the mobilization. "You cannot fight for power while the people are dying," one of them says.
As protests intensify on the streets, a political crisis is also playing out within the government. The management of national security is at the heart of a clash between the director general of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Normil Rameau, and Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.
According to sources close to the government, this conflict goes beyond the institutional framework and is linked to major economic issues, notably the control of the PNH and its resources.
In a context of growing instability, the outcome of this crisis remains uncertain. While power struggles multiply at the highest levels of the State, the population continues to demand concrete solutions to the humanitarian and security emergency.
